Benazir Bhutto Lahore, Jan.15 (ANI): Singing the jaded ‘Kashmir tune’ once again, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has said that efforts to ‘free’ Jammu and Kashmir were not only targeted at claiming land.

“Efforts for the liberation of Jammu and Kashmir were not just aimed at acquiring land, they rather went far beyond this,” Zardari said.

Addressing the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers at the Governor’s House here, Zardari described the water crisis as the “biggest challenge” facing the country at present.

He said that the PPP government was working in accordance with the vision and mission of party leaders like Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

Zardari stressed that the government is trying its best to strengthen democracy and guarantee rights to the poor and neglected segments of society.

“I am visiting China, Australia and the US for the poor people of my country,” The Daily Times quoted Zardari, as saying. (ANI)
