Leadership change essential for Pakistan’s survival: Musharraf

Lahore, Apr 18(ANI): Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-led federal government has disappointed the country, and insisted that a change in leadership is essential for its survival.
The All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) chief, who is currently in self-exile in Britain, said that a decision about his return and participation in the next elections would be taken once the party is organized and its offices are established throughout the country.
“For the sake of Pakistan, a third political option was essential,” the Daily Times quoted Musharraf, as saying.
Musharraf further said that he has seen death very closely and was ready to face every situation.
“No one could harass or cause any harm to me. I’m also ready to face all sorts of dangers and sacrifice my life for Pakistan and its people,” the former President said.
Earlier, it was reported that Musharraf had abandoned his plans of returning to Pakistan after the country’s military refused to provide him extra security to counter multiple threats to his life. (ANI)
