Washington, Dec.28 (ANI): In a latest attempt to reassure the world of its dedication towards fighting the menance of terrorism, Pakistan has said that the banned terrorist outfit Lashkar-i-Taiba does not exist on its territory.
The Lashkar-i-Taiba has been banned in Pakistan and does not exist, The News reported Pakistan press attache Nadeem Kiani, as saying.
Pakistan press attache Nadeem Kiani, in his recent editorial, has suggested that the government of Pakistan is committed to root out terrorism from its soil and to confront the plague of extremism within its borders, in the tribal areas and on its frontiers.
Kiani rejected claims that the intelligence agencies and the army in Pakistan is working on its own and the government has no control over them.
Government has complete authority over the state institutions, including the military and intelligence agencies in Pakistan. All institutions are working under the coordination and direction of the political leadership, Kianis editorial said.
Lamenting India over its unsupportive behaviour, Pakistan said that India has not provided credible evidence to prove that the perpetrators of the Mumbai attack were from Pakistan.
Pakistan has offered unconditional support to India in investigating the gruesome act of terrorism in Mumbai. The fact is that, as of now, we have not been provided credible evidence of any Pakistani individual or groups involvement, the newspaper reported a Pakistani embassy spokesman, as saying. (ANI)
