Lahore HC CJ refuses to hear petition against Davis’ release
March 18th, 2011 - 5:55 pm ICT by ANIIslamabad, Mar 18 (ANI): The Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC), Justice Ijaz Chaudhry, has refused to hear a petition challenging the release of CIA contractor Raymond Davis today.
Justice Ijaz forwarded the petition filed by Barrister Iqbal Jafri to another judge, saying that he had already heard a petition over Davis’ immunity status, The Dawn reports.
The petition has reportedly been forwarded to Justice Iftikhar Hussain Chaudhry for hearing.
The petition had stated that the families of Faizan and Faheem, who were shot by Davis in January, were pressured by the government into pardoning the CIA contractor, and therefore the court should declare his release unlawful. (ANI)
