Kevin Costner had to be a daddy before being a hubby!
July 15th, 2008 - 4:48 pm ICT by ANIWashington , July 15 (ANI): Kevin Costners wife Christine Baumgartner agreed to marry the actor only after he complied with one condition to become a dad again.
After splitting from first wife, childhood sweetheart Cindy Silva in 1994, the Dances with Wolves star feared that hed never find love again and was strictly against having more kids.
However, already a father of three, the 53-year-old star was taken aback when his then girlfriend had put up a family condition before agreeing to marry him.
“For years, fear kept me from marrying Christine. Christine wanted a child, but I was afraid I couldn”t be an effective father, Contactmusic quoted him, as telling Parade magazine.
He added: “She said, ”I”m about children. If you want to be with me, if you want to get married, you should know that’’s part of my make-up.”
“I woke up and thought, ”Am I going to lose a beautiful woman who is willing to be with me to my very last breath because I am afraid to say yes to a child?”
“That’’s all it took. I decided I was not going to miss out on love.”
The couple tied the knot in 2004 and became proud parents of their first son together, Cayden, in 2007. (ANI)
