Kerala fans cheer India victory

Sachin Tendulkar Thiruvananthapuram, March 30 (IANS) Delirious cricket fans here took to the streets Wednesday to celebrate India’s victory over Pakistan in the cricket World Cup semifinal at Mohali.

Cricket buffs of all ages danced on the main roads, singing songs and celebrating the win.

Other cities like Kochi and Kozhikode, too, witnessed similar scenes.

A number of fans here had painted their faces and waved the Indian flag. Fans also shouted slogans in support of the Men in Blue, especially Sachin Tendulkar.

“Even though initially we felt that our score was not enough, things changed soon. When we saw that the ball was keeping low when India was bowling, we knew victory was near,” a cricket fan said here, dancing with a group of youngsters.
