Peshawar, Dec 9 (ANI): In an attempt to quash reports of his arrest, Pakistan Taliban cleric Maulana Fazlullah once again aired his voice on his FM Radio and admitted that he was injured while fighting with security forces.
Fazlullah, 32, who is on the run after being forced by the security forces to quit his village, however, didnt divulge much about the type and scale of his injuries.
He also refuted the Pakistan Government claims that his deputy, Maulana Shah Dawran, had been killed along with four of his men.
According to reports, Fazlullah had fled to the remote Peochar mountainous area along with his supporters.
I should be held responsible if any foreign militant was arrested in Swat, Fazllulah said in a statement on his FM Radio after the Isha prayers on Friday night.
He also maintained that there were no foreign militants in Swat, and said that the Musahrraf regime is trying to malign him and his supporters.
Pledging to continue his campaign for enforcement of Shariah in Swat, Shangla and the rest of the Malakand division, Fazllulha said: We have no other objective except the Shariah. We are ready to shed our blood for the cause of Shariah.
The security forces have advanced into the heart of the hitherto Taliban-controlled area and were now in control of Matta, Khwazakhela and Charbagh towns and surroundings villages, The News reported.
Fazlullah, nicknamed “Mullah Radio, is the leader of Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM), a banned Pakistani Islamic fundamentalist militant group that aims to enforce Shariah in the country.
He runs an illegal local FM channel in the North Western Frontier Provinces (NWFP) Swat Valley. (ANI)
