Lahore, Feb.6 (ANI): After spending over an year in hibernation, the banned Jamaat-ud- Dawa (JuD), the front face of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has resurfaced once again.

The JuD, which was banned by the UN following the Mumbai terror attacks, held a massive rally here showcasing its strength and announced its continued support to jihad against India for ‘liberating Kashmir’.

Hundreds of supporters in SUV’s participated in the rally, carrying party flags, dummy kalashnikovs and chanting slogans against India and the US and in the favour of the LeT.

JuD’s top leaders, including Hafeez Muhammed Saeed, the 26/11 mastermind, and Ameer Hamza addressed the gathering.

However, the media was not allowed to cover Saeed’s speech, The Daily Times reports.

The United Nations Security Council had declared the JuD a terrorist organisation in December 2008 on India’s request in the wake of the ghastly Mumbai attacks.

Although, the JuD had limited its activities after the ban, but it continued its covert activities under various other names.

Last year on February 5, it held a Kashmir solidarity rally under the name of Tehreek-e-Azadi-e-Kashmir. It also protested against Israel’s attack on Gaza under the name Tehreek-e-Qibla-e-Awwal. (ANI)
