Joint chiefs of staff committee chairman calls on Zardari

Islamabad, Jan 16 (IANS) Pakistan’s Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee chairman Gen. Khalid Shamim Wynne Monday called on President Asif Ali Zardari to discuss the country’s security situation, a media report said.
Sources told Online news agency that they discussed “professional issues” related to security.
Two days earlier, army chief Gen. Ashfaq Pervez Kayani had met the president amid the stand-off between the political and military leadership that began after Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani criticised Kayani and the chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence for their direct replies to the Supreme Court in the memo case.
