Lahore, July 31 (ANI): Jamaat-e-Islami chief Syed Munawar Hasan has opposed the fresh dialogue with India unless New Delhi accepts the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination as guaranteed by the UN and abandons water aggression against Pakistan.
In his response to Indian premier Manmohan Singh’s statement in Lok Sabha denying New Delhi’s hand in terrorist activities in Pakistan, Munawar said India had always been propagating and conspiring against Pakistan, was openly involved in separation of East Pakistan, was supplying arms and funds to separatists in Balochistan.
Munawar said although his party believed talks to be the only way to settle issues, but unfortunately New Delhi’s track record in this regard was totally unreliable. Therefore, Pakistani rulers should not expect any good from Delhi, he added.
India had been involved in state terrorism in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir for the last 20 years; The News quoted him, as saying.
Munawar said India was guilty of water aggression against Pakistan by unlawfully building dams on the Pakistani rivers to stop water.
He said it was unfortunate that the cowardly Pakistani rulers were not naming India only because of the US pressure.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik’s role was highly doubtful as he always tried to bail out New Delhi, Munawar added. (ANI)
