Lahore, June 5 (ANI): Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawwar Hasan called on Jamaat-ud-Dawa achief Hafiz Saeed at his residence to congratulate him on his release.
Both leaders discussed matters of mutual interests and the prevailing security situation in the country.
They agreed that as long as the NATO forces were in the region, terrorism and unrest could not be controlled.
They demanded of all political and religious parties to get united on a single-point agenda of driving the US out of the region, and expressed sorrow that certain political parties and NGOs were supporting the US aggression.
Both leaders demanded of the rulers to stop running the affairs of state on US dictation and evolve bold and independent policies.
They demanded an immediate halt to the Swat military operation and solving the issue through Jirgas and other peaceful means, The News reported.
Saeed extended support to JI’s ‘Go America Go’ campaign, and stressed that elimination of increasing US influence on Islamabad was needed to steer the country out of the security crises. (ANI)
