He said that the government had already released 6,000 political activists and lawyers, adding that the provinces had been directed to follow the code of conduct during the electoral process.
Meanwhile, Ahsan is planning to travel across Pakistan on a “judicial bus” to campaign for the restoration of judiciary to a pre-November 3 status after his release from house arrest.
Sources close to Ahsan said that the SCBA President would tour the country on the “judicial bus” to press the government to restore the superior judges who had been deposed for not taking oath under the Provisional Constitution Order (PCO).
SCBA Secretary Amin Javed confirmed that Ahsan has planned a countrywide tour on a bus for the restoration of deposed judges.
Former SCBA presidents Muhammad Ikram Chaudhry and Hamid Khan said that lawyers along with the people would support this initiative, the Daily Times reported.
Ahsan had defended deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry before the Supreme Court (SC) after his suspension by President Pervez Musharraf, and won the case. (ANI)
