Islamabad, Aug.11 (ANI): Trouble for former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf is far from over as Islamabad police has now registered a FIR charging him of illegal confinement of judges in 2007.
Petitioner Aslam Ghuman said Secretariat Police station SHO, Hakim Khan had informed him that a case against Musharraf has been registered, The News reports.
On Monday, acting on a petition regarding the house arrest of Supreme Court judges, a sessions court in Islamabad had directed police to lodge a case against the former general.
The ruling came during the hearing of a petition filed by advocate Ghuman, who had stated that Musharraf put judges under illegal house arrest in 2007 to prolong his rule.
The additional session judge said the Pakistani law ministry didn’t present its stand within the given timeframe.
The court directed the police officer in charge of Secretariat Police station to record the statement of the petitioner against former president and register a FIR. (ANI)
