ISI chief’s tenure to be extended: Pak Defence Minister
March 12th, 2011 - 9:46 pm ICT by ANILahore, Mar. 12 (ANI): Pakistan’s Defence Minister Ahmed Mukhtar on Saturday said that the tenure of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director-General Lt. General Ahmed Shuja Pasha is being extended.
Interacting with media here, the Dawn quoted Mocha, as saying that he did not say how long Lt-General Pasha would stay on as ISI chief.
Lt. General Pasha was due to step down on March 18, but the Pakistan establishment believes that giving him an extension is in the interest of national security.
Lt. General Pasha is believed to have a good relationship with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
