Lahore, Mar.12 (ANI): Terming match referee Chris Broads statement on the Lahore terror attack as appalling, Pakistan cricket coach Intikhab Alam has sought an apology from Broad.
I must say that I was hurt by Chris Broads appalling allegations against Pakistan as well as our cricket team after the incident. He must apologise for those comments, The News quoted Alam, as saying.
Alam said that Broads comments had hurt the sentiments of the people of Pakistan, and urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to take the issue seriously.
The ICC should take this issue very seriously and should ask Broad to apologise to Pakistan for his comments that have hurt us deeply, he added.
Earlier, Broad, who was traveling in a minivan with other match officials behind the bus carrying the Lankan players, had strongly charged the Pakistani security officials of not ensuring their safety during the attack.
There was not a sign of a policeman anywhere. They had clearly left the scene and left us to be sitting ducks, Broad had said.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had also lodged an official complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) in this regard. (ANI)
