Indo-Pak composite dialogue on March 28-29 in Delhi
March 4th, 2011 - 12:06 pm ICT by ANIIslamabad, Mar 4(ANI): Pakistan and India will resume the composite dialogue process from March 28 in New Delhi.
The Pakistan Foreign Office said in a statement: “Pakistan-India Interior/Home Secretaries Level Talks will be held on 28-29 March 2011 in New Delhi.”
Both countries will discuss counter terrorism, narcotics control and humanitarian issues during the dialogue.
Earlier this week, the Foreign Office had said that the recent foreign secretary-level talks in Thimphu, Bhutan, were a significant breakthrough, and that both India and Pakistan had agreed to resume dialogue on all issues.
“This holds hope for a meaningful and sustained process of engagement to bridge the trust deficit, resolve all outstanding issues, notably the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, and for creating an enabling environment for promoting peace and prosperity in the region as a whole,” it added.
On the issue of terrorism, the statement said: “Pakistan believes that this issue is global and regional, and warrants a comprehensive and cooperative approach on the part of all states to eliminate this menace. Pakistan has suffered more from terrorism than any other state.”
The composite dialogue process between the two nuclear neighbours was suspended following the Mumbai terror attacks in November 2008. (ANI)
