Indias nuclear-capable undersea missile test to trigger arms race: Pakistan NavyFebruary 27th, 2008 - 8:24 pm ICT by admin
Karachi, Feb 27 (ANI): The Pakistani Navy chief on Wednesday said that the launch of nuclear-capable submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) by India will trigger a new arms race in the region.
These developments…put nuclear weapons at sea and it is a very, very serious issue, Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir told reporters.
This is going to start a new arms race in the region, the Dawn quoted him, as saying.
India on Tuesday test-fired the country’s first ever SLBM, codenamed K-15.
The test was conducted from a submerged pontoon off the coast of Vishakhapatnam. The test marked the first step towards converting the missile into a militarily usable nuclear weapon. (ANI)
