Indian influences from Mughal era to inspire Islamic fashion fest in KL
June 24th, 2010 - 5:26 pm ICT by ANIKuala Lumpur, June 24 (ANI): The Malaysian capital will host the final leg of the Islamic Fashion Festival 2010 (IFF) tour later this year. Themed “Maharaja” the show will feature contemporary Muslim wear with designs highlighting Indian influences from the Mughal dynasty.
The six-day festival will kick off on Nov 7.
“We have gifted designers who are able to infuse traditional styles with a modern sensibility,” The Star Online quoted Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, the festival’s patron, as saying.
The festival was first organised in 2006 by Datuk Raja Rezza Shah and has since helped to put fashionable Muslim wear in the spotlight. (ANI)
