Indian delegation to educate Pakistani businessmen
January 24th, 2012 - 11:55 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, Jan 24 (IANS) An Indian delegation is to visit Pakistan to familiarise the country’s business community with the best practices required to enter the Indian market.
The delegation will consist of officials from Customs, Bureau of Indian Standards, Food Safety Standards Authority of India and Export Inspection Council, Online news agency reported Tuesday.
The regulators will hold meetings at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Thursday and the Trade Development
Authority of Pakistan (Karachi) Friday.
The visit follows the fifth and six round of commerce secretary level talks held in April and November 2011.
During the fifth round of talks, the issue of Non-Tariff
Barriers (NTBs) faced by Pakistan’s business community in the Indian trade regime was taken up.
during the visit of Pakistan’s commerce minister to India, it was
proposed to the Indian side to send a delegation of Indian regulators to Pakistan to familiarise the business community about the NTBs.
