India condemns terror attack in PakistanMarch 30th, 2009 - 6:04 pm ICT by IANS
New Delhi, March 30 (IANS) India Monday expressed shock at the terror attack in Lahore in which at least 22 police trainees were killed.
“The government of India is deeply saddened and shocked by the events in Lahore,” Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon told reporters here.
A group of terrorists stormed a police training academy in Pakistan’s Lahore city early Monday, killing at least 22 trainees and injuring dozens. Many trainees were held hostage for hours by the militants, some of whom were wearing police uniforms.
“Terrorism is a menace to the entire region. Our sympathies go out to the families whose members have been killed or injured,” he added.
Menon declined to comment on the identity of the attackers or the motive behind the attack.
