Islamabad, Feb 21 (ANI): Pakistani Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar on Saturday said that India could try the Pakistani terrorist, Ajmal Amir Kasab as he had committed a crime on the soil of that country.
Kasab can not be extradited. India could conduct the trial of Kasab according to its own laws as it committed a crime on that country, Mukhtar said.
Mukhtar also explained the missile attacks in Pakistans tribal area and said these were being conducted by drones operating from Afghanistan.
The Minister also said that the accused who had been detained in Pakistan in connection with the Mumbai attacks would be brought to trial in a Pakistani court.
Pakistani government had filed a case against nine suspects, including Kasab for their involvement in Mumbai attacks. Pakistani authorities have detained six of the other eight suspects.
Pakistan on Wednesday identified Ajmal Amir Kasab as the ”prime suspect” for the Mumbai terrorist attacks and formally requested India to hand over him to facilitate ‘’successful prosecution of other accused arrested in this country”.(ANI)
