Imran Khan released from jailNovember 21st, 2007 - 10:40 pm ICT by admin
Islamabad, Nov 21 (ANI): Cricketer-turned-politician and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan was released from the prison on Wednesday evening, according to jail officials.
The Jail Superintendent of Dera Ismail Khan prison said this today, The News reported.
The latest development comes after reports said that Imran had gone on an indefinite hunger strike.
However, the Deputy Superintendent of the jail, Bakhsh, denied that Imran had stopped eating, and said that he had bread, eggs and fruit for breakfast.
Jail officials said that Imran’s supporters were spreading word of the strike to attract media attention.
“Imran has stopped eating since yesterday. We can’t leave him alone. It is not a token hunger strike, it is a serious one,” Imran’s sister Allema Khan had said. (ANI)
