Imran Khan criticises PPP govt for threatening journalists
December 23rd, 2009 - 4:31 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Lahore, Dec.23 (ANI): Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has criticised the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government, saying no political party has the right to threaten journalists for concealing their ‘weaknesses’.
Referring to reports that suggested that senior journalists of the Jang News group, Ansar Abbasi, Shaheen Sehbai and Dr. Shahid Masood were facing threats from the government, Khan said the government should ensure the safety of these media persons.
“The PPP government should safeguard its reputation instead of such coward deeds,” The News quoted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chief, as saying. (ANI)
