Lahore, Nov 26 (ANI): Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has rejected reports that he has returned to Pakistan on the basis of a deal the Musharraf regime.
“I have deal with people, but no deal with government,” Sharif said at his reception at the Data Darbar where he arrived after 11 hours of travelling from Lahore Airport.
Sharif, accompanied by his wife Kulsoom and former Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, paid visit to Data Darbar.
“Together we will restore democracy and end dictatorship,” Sharif told supporters.
“It is time for a decisive battle,” he remarked.
A special security cavalcade was appointed to accompany the Sharifs from the airport to Data Sahab and from Data Saheb to their estate at Raiwind.
Intelligence Bureau officials and the Special Branch forces were deputed along the route taken by the PML-N leader.
The Sharifs reached Data Saheb shrine via Chungi Dogage, Rangers Headquarters, Joray Pul, Sadr Gole Chakar, Dharampura, Garhi Shahu, Allama Iqbal Road and Shah Alami.
After visiting the Data Darbar, Sharif left for Raiwind, The News reported.
Sharif landed at the Lahore Airport on Sunday evening, and vowed to end dictatorship in the country and to restore the judiciary to its pre-November 3 status.
“We are here for the restoration of the judiciary and democracy, and we are determined to launch a struggle against dictatorship in Pakistan,” pledged Sharif. The Sharif family reached Lahore in a special Saudi royal plane at around 6:25 p.m.
His senior party leaders and a large number of party workers received him at the airport. (ANI)
