Lahore, Jan.17 (ANI): Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has vowed to take on ‘conspirators’, who are working against the PPP government, saying he would not remain a silent spectator and would foil all attempts to weaken the country’s democratic set up.
“I am aware of the situation outside the Presidency and watching every move like a hawk, the plotters should know that I am aware of their machinations. I will thwart all conspiracies through political means and inform the people well before the execution,” Zardari said.
Addressing a function at the Governor’s House here, Zardari said he would give his all to defeat the propaganda against the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and reiterated his resolve to help Pakistan emerge stronger from the current turbulent situation.
He expressed hope that the local elections in Punjab would prove that the PPP still enjoys people’s support.
“I know PPP workers are not happy in Punjab since they are not getting jobs, but I have told them that they will have to defeat the enemies of Pakistan first,” The Daily Times quoted Zardari, as saying.
He said that the PPP would carry on the good works initiated by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. (ANI)
