Lahore, Feb. 23 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has said he is ready to jointly work with Nawaz Sharif to address the problems of the masses, and that he agreed with the PML-N chief over the independence of parliament and judiciary.
Addressing a joint press conference after a meeting with Sharif, Gilani said the nation would soon hear “good news” regarding repeal of the 17th Amendment.
The Daily Times quoted Gilani, as saying that he had offered PML-N leaders to jointly evolve a strategy to address the problems of the masses.
Answering a question, Gilani said his government would respect the constitution and implement all the orders of the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, Sharif said the government must address and resolve problems of the masses such as load shedding, unemployment, inflation, high prices of basic utilities and petroleum products.
Nawaz reiterated his demand for the implementation of the CoD.
“We want the charter to be immediately implemented… and the 17th Amendment immediately repealed. The parliament should be sovereign and there should be an independent judiciary,” he said. (ANI)
