Islamabad, April 3(ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani will begin a four-day private trip to London on Wednesday to be present during his son’s liver surgery in a hospital there.
Gilani will travel by a commercial flight and will be accompanied by brief personal staff, The News reports.
He will visit former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif in London on the day of his arrival.
Nawaz had undergone cardiac surgery last month and is recovering in a London hospital.
On Thursday, Gilani will be present in King’s Hospital during the surgery of his son Haider Gilani, who has been diagnosed with a cyst in his liver.
The operation was originally scheduled for last week, but was deferred due to Gilani’s visit to India to watch the Indo-Pak World Cup semi-final, sources said.
According to sources, the prime minister’s wife Fauzia Gilani and other members of his family are already in London to take care of Haider.
Although he will be on a private visit, Gilani will also have some important meetings during his stay.
His maiden meeting with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain can also not be ruled out. The High Commission of Pakistan in London has, however, been advised to maintain the trip as informal and private. (ANI)
