Lahore, Jan.24 (ANI): Stressing on the need of ‘unity’ among both PPP and PML-N, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif have ruled out any possibility of mid-term polls in Pakistan.
Sharif called on Gilani at his residence where both the leaders discussed numerous issues, including the current political scenario in the country.
During the meeting, Gilani underlined the need for a closer collaboration between the PPP and the PML-N to thwart the challenges facing the country’s democratic set-up.
Both the leaders expressed their resolved to extend due respect to the judiciary, The Daily Times reported.
Sources privy to the meeting said both the leaders stressed that all institutions should work within the ambit set by country’s constitution.
“The objective of the political governments was to ensure good governance and it was the responsibility of all state institutions to provide relief to the people and improve the quality of life of the people,” sources quoted Gilani, as saying. (ANI)
