Islamabad, July 21 (ANI): Rejecting US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s statement that some “elements” in the Pakistan government know where Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden is hiding, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that any information regarding the terror warlord’s whereabouts must be shared with Islamabad to enable it to take strong action.

Talking to a delegation of journalists at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Gilani said neither bin Laden or Taliban chief Mullah Omar are in Pakistan.

“If anyone has any credible and verifiable information, it should be shared with the government,” The Daily Times quoted Gilani, as saying.

Clinton, who visited Islamabad earlier this week, had said that she believes that “elements” in the Pakistan government may know where bin Laden is hiding.

“I want those guys. I assume somebody in this (Pakistani)government, from top to bottom, does know where (Osama) Bin Laden is, and I’d like to know too,” Clinton told Fox News’ “On the Record”.

She also stated that the US-Pakistan cooperation against Al-Qaeda has not yielded desired results yet.

“It’s not yet what I want to be. Having been a senator from New York on 9/11, I want those guys — I mean, I will not be satisfied until we get them,” she had said.

Clinton also underlined the fact that most of the terror attacks on the United States emanated from Pakistan, as the Taliban and Al-Qaeda continue to use that country’s soil as safe havens.

“This is where the principle terrorist threat to the United States emanates from,” she said during her stopover in Islamabad enroute to Kabul.

In May, Clinton had accused that the Pakistani administration knows much more about Laden than what it reveals to Washington.

“Some Pakistani officials were more informed about al-Qaida and Taliban than they let on,” Clinton had said then.

“I’m not saying that they’re at the highest levels but I believe that somewhere in this government are people who know where Osama bin Laden and al-Qaida is, where Mullah Omar and the leadership of the Afghan Taliban is and we expect more cooperation to help us bring to justice, capture or kill, those who attacked us on 9/11,” she had said during an interview with the CBS.
