Gilani ex-aide jailed for bank fraud

Yousuf Raza Gilani Islamabad, Jan 26 (IANS) Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s former media coordinator Khurram Rasool was sentenced to four years in imprisonment Thursday in a bank fraud case by an accountability court.

In its indictment, the Rawalpindi court sentenced Rasool to three years in imprisonment and issued his arrest warrants, while other four co-suspects were sentenced to four years in imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 500,000 slapped on each of them, the Dawn reported.

The suspects had lent Rs 71.94 million from a private bank through fraud in 2009.
