Gilani ex-aide jailed for bank fraud

Islamabad, Jan 26 (IANS) Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s former media coordinator Khurram Rasool was sentenced to four years in imprisonment Thursday in a bank fraud case by an accountability court.
In its indictment, the Rawalpindi court sentenced Rasool to three years in imprisonment and issued his arrest warrants, while other four co-suspects were sentenced to four years in imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 500,000 slapped on each of them, the Dawn reported.
The suspects had lent Rs 71.94 million from a private bank through fraud in 2009.
