Islamabad, Apr. 26 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has asked opposition lawmaker Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to produce irrefutable and concrete evidence to enable him to take the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency to task for alleged misdemeanours.
Replying to Nisar Ali Khan’s charge made in the National Assembly on Tuesday, Gilani said that while his government fully respects the reservations voiced by opposition leader against the ISI, no action could be taken against the latter without substantial error-free evidence.
Geo News quoted him as saying further: “Opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) Chaudhry Nisar should produce solid evidences against DG ISI if he wants reply from government. ”
He also revealed that relations between Pakistan and the United States were on the mend, as could be seen by the recent visits of ISI Director Lt. Gen. Ahmed Shujaa Pasha and Defence Secretary Shuja Nawaz.
He said Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir would be visiting the United States soon, and described these visits as part of the restoration of Pakistan-US ties. (ANI)
