NOIDA, May 27 (ANI): A Ghaziabad court today indefinitely deferred the hearing of the bail application of dentist Rajesh Talwar, the man accused of killing his daughter Arushi.

Lawyers representing Talwar, had filed the application saying that Talwar should be released on bail since he was innocent and also suffering from asthma. There was no evidence to link him to the May 16 murders of his daughter and servant, they added.

On Monday, the hearing was deferred following a protest by lawyers outside the court against police firing at Gujjars in Rajasthan.

Dr. Talwar is presently under judicial remand for 14 days.

On Saturday, Dr. Talwar’s lawyers filed bail applications, saying there was no evidence to link him with the crime.

The police also moved an application seeking custody of Dr. Talwar.

On Sunday, the wife and brother of Dr. Talwar visited him at the Dasna Jail here.

Dr. Talwar’s brother, Dinesh Talwar said the family believed Rajesh to be 100 per cent innocent.

Earlier, Nupur had come out in strong defence of her husband claiming his innocence in the murder of their daughter and domestic help.

Arushi, a class IX student of Delhi Public School in Noida, was found in her bedroom with her throat slit last Friday. A day later, Hemraj, the Nepali help of the Talwar household, who was initially named as a prime suspect by Noida Police, was found dead on the terrace. His throat was also slit in a similar manner.
