Four attackers killed, three nabbed alive as Lahore police training camp siege ends

Lahore,Mar .30 (ANI): The eight hour long siege at the Lahore police training camp is reportedly over. Security forces have claimed that they have nabbed three attackers alive during a commando operation.

According to reports filtering in, the training school building has been secured by security personnel and all 800 hostages have been rescued. A search operation is being carried out remove any terrorist hiding inside the campus.

Two attackers were nabbed from the second floor of the building while one of them was caught outside the building in the parade ground, a senior police official said.

One of the attackers was talking to security forces in Pashto, sources said.

Commandos, and Pak Rangers were seen celebrating on the roof-top of the building just before an official announcement about the end of the siege came in.

Meanwhile, talking to a private television channel, Interior Affairs Advisor Rehman Malik also confirmed that the siege is over.

Rehman claimed that four terrorist were killed in the operation, besides the three nabbed alive.

Rehman said officials are very near to find out the hand behind the attack.

“The attack was well planned and organised by our enemies,” Rehman said.

While commenting on the failure of police personnel in tackling such incidents in the recent past, Rehman admitted that Pakistan police is not fully equipped to deal with such emergencies..

“Our police was never trained to act against such activities,” he said.

Rehman also urged the political leadership of the country to forget their differences, and unite against terrorism, which is transforming itself into dangerous proportions. (ANI)
