Islamabad, Nov 18 (ANI): Four former Pakistan ministers have requested the government to provide them bulletproof vehicles and security escort, a senior Interior Ministry official has said.
These former ministers are Muhammad Ali Durrani (Information and Broadcasting), Ejaz-ul-Haq (Religious Affairs), Amanullah Khan Jadoon (Petroleum) and Zafar Iqbal Warriach (Minister of State for Interior).
The Interior Ministry has prepared a summary in this regard, which will soon be submitted to caretaker Prime Minister Mohammadmain Soomro for approval, the official said.
During his tenure, he said, former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz had approved a new security plan under which the government would continue providing security, including official bulletproof vehicles with security escort, to former Prime Ministers, the Senate Chairman and ministers.
The government has so far provided bulletproof vehicles and security escorts to former Prime Ministers Aziz, Benazir Bhutto and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Leader of the House in Senate Wasim Sajjad on their requests.
Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has made no such request, the Daily Times quoted the official, as saying.
