Five policemen killed in Pakistan

Islamabad, Aug 2 (Xinhua) At least five policemen were killed Saturday in a bomb attack in Pakistan’s northwestern Swat valley, a media report said. The militants attacked a police van through a remote-controlled device. Five people were also injured in the blast, PTV reported.

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.

Meanwhile, Pakistani security forces have launched a major offensive against the militants.
