Five policemen killed in Afghan blast

Kabul, Sep 2 (IANS) Five policemen with the Afghan Border Police were killed and six others injured in a blast in Afghanistan Sunday, Xinhua reported.
The policemen were on regular patrol in Gura Shin area of Kamdish district when their vehicle was hit by a bomb, police said. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told the media on telephone that nine policemen were killed and 13 injured.
Meanwhile, nine Taliban militants, including key commander Mullah Shadi, were arrested Sunday in Bagwa district in the western province of Farah, a government spokesman told Xinhua.
