Five killed in two blasts in Pakistan (Lead)
June 12th, 2009 - 4:52 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, June 12 (IANS) At least five people were killed and over 100 injured in bomb blasts targeting two mosques in Pakistan Friday, media reports said.
One person was killed and several injured in a bomb blast at the Jamia Naeemia mosque in the city of Lahore in eastern Pakistan and four people were killed and over 90 injured in an explosion targeting the Nowshera supply depot mosque in the city of Nowshera in northwest Pakistan, Geo News reported.
The explosion in Lahore occurred after the Friday prayers when people were making their way out of the mosque and was so powerful that the outer walls of the mosque collapsed, the report said.
