Fareeda Khanun to teach Canadian Bengali girl the art of singing Ghazal

Islamabad, December 25 (ANI): Pakistani ghazal queen Begum Fareeda Khanum has formally accepted a Dutch-born Canadian Bengali as her pupil.
An announcement about Azalea Roy becoming Fareedas student was made at a dignified ceremony held at a local hotel in Lahore on Wednesday, reports the Daily Times.
The newspaper suggests that Azalea has been staying as part of Fareedas family ever since her arrival in Lahore.
Azalea said that she was keen to learn the art of singing ghazal.
She revealed that people of Lahore had been very welcoming, generous and loving to her.
Fareeda is happy that she would be teaching Azalea, who had come all the way to learn singing.
She said that she was more than happy to teach the passionate student.
Many noted singers like Ghulam Ali and Tahira Sayed also attended the ceremony. (ANI)
