“Fake” Pak kabaddi team on the loose in India!
September 21st, 2010 - 4:27 pm ICT by ANIIslamabad, Sept 21 (ANI): Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) Secretary Rana Muhammad Sarwar has said that a team has left for India without making any contact with them and without even any permission from the Ministry of Sports.
“I don’t know, how they have gone for this tour, we had written to Ministry of Sports and Indian authorities through Ministry of Foreign Affairs that national federation does not recognize this team but even then they have been issued visas,” the Daily Times quoted Sarwar, as saying, adding that he was even unaware about the event for which they had gone to India.
“I don’t know about their office-bearers, I have heard that an MNA (Member of National Assembly) is leading them, but there is no official existence of any other kabaddi federation in the country,” said Sarwar, raising concerns about the kabaddi team’s authenticity.
Sources in Pakistan Ministry of Sports revealed that the fake kabaddi team had obtained a non-objection certificate (NOC) from Interior Ministry to get visas from the Indian High Commission.
“The interior ministry interfered in this issue to facilitate the fake kabaddi team,” said an official on the condition of anonymity.
Meanwhile, ministry of sports also declared their ignorance about this team.
“The Ministry of Sports takes strong exception to the reports that suggest the issuance of NOC the circle kabaddi team,” said a sports ministry spokesman, adding, “There is no Circle Kabaddi Federation registered with the ministry.” (ANI)
