Explosion kills eight in northwest Pakistan

Islamabad, Feb 29 (DPA) At least eight people were killed and more than 50 injured Friday in an explosion during the funeral ceremony of a police official who was killed in a roadside bomb attack in the North-West Frontier Province. Hundreds of people were assembled at the funeral ceremony when the blast occurred in Mangore town of Swat district, Aaj news channel said.

The deputy Superintendent police was killed in another district of Luck Marwat together with three policemen in a remote-controlled roadside bomb attack. Mangora is his ancestral town.
