Yousuf Raza Gilani Islamabad, Mar 4(ANI): Evidence regarding the assassination of Pakistan Minority Affairs Minister Shahbaz Bhatti have been found, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Friday.

Bhatti was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Islamabad on Wednesday for championing the case of Aasia Bibi, a Pakistani Christian woman who was sentenced to death last November for allegedly committing blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad.

Malik ordered Pakistani investigation agencies to probe the Shahbaz Bhatti murder case with an open mind, Samaa TV reports.

Talking outside the Parliament House, he said now that the terrorists are targetting government officials and VVIPs, a new strategy has been made to tackle the problem.

About the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) talks with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Malik said the credit of the successful dialogue went to President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and MQM chief Altaf Hussain.

Responding to a question, Malik denied having said anything new about “Punjabi Taliban”, and said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s statement was his own complex.

Shahbaz had reiterated his objection to the term ‘Punjabi Taliban’ on Thursday, saying that Malik had “first used this word in the cabinet meeting,” and warned him to avoid using this term. (ANI)
