EU foreign policy chief to visit Pakistan
July 19th, 2009 - 4:56 pm ICT by IANSBrussels, July 19 (IANS) European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Javier Solana will visit Pakistan Monday for talks with the country’s leadership, the EuAsiaNews reported Sunday.
He will make a two-day stop in the country on his way to attend the Association of South-East Asian Nations’ (ASEAN) regional forum meetings Wednesday and Thursday in Phuket in Thailand, EU officials said here.
Solana is expected to discuss EU-Pakistan ties and other regional issues with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and other government officials.
His visit to Islamabad follows Zardari’s trip to Brussels June 17 to take part in the first-ever EU-Pakistan summit.
