Drugs worth Rs.400 mn seized in Pakistan
November 23rd, 2010 - 9:39 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, Nov 23 (IANS) In a massive operation, Pakistan’s anti-narcotics officials Tuesday seized drugs and liquor worth Rs.400 million in Islamabad and Rawalpindi and arrested 27 people, including three women.
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) raided various places in the two cities and recovered 34 kg heroin, 740 kg charas, 19 kg opium and 550 litres of liquor. They also seized 12 vehicles used by the arrested people in their illicit activities, the Online news agency reported.
Seven people were arrested from the capital’s Benazir International Airport, when they were trying to smuggle narcotics to Saudi Arabia and Thailand.
All the arrested people have been identified, officials said.
