`Davos meet an opportunity to project Pakistan’s economy’

Yousuf Raza Gilani Islamabad, Jan 24 (IANS) The World Economic Forum to be held in Davos offers a good opportunity to project Pakistan’s economy which has registered a comeback, said Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani here.

Gilani Monday said most of indicators suggest that the economy was performing well despite global recession.

Pakistan is well placed to convince the international investors to invest in Pakistan as it is the best destination to do business, he added.

Gilani will attend the annual summit of the World Economic Forum this week being held at Davos, Switzerland.

He is scheduled to hold meetings with world leaders who will gather at the Alpine resort from Jan 25-29 to deliberate upon the global economic issues, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will open the annual event in which 40 heads of state, 18 of the world’s central bankers besides around 2,600 of the world’s top political and business leaders are expected to participate.
