Islamabad, April 27(ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that constructive engagement with India is vital for both nations to move towards the goal of establishing good-neighbourly relations.

Gilani said that Pakistan wants to move towards a comprehensive and broad-ranging engagement with India on the basis of equality, mutual trust, interest and respect, The Nation reports.

He made these comments while talking to Foreign Affairs Secretary Salman Bashir and Commerce and Trade Secretary Zafar Mahmood, who had called on him at the Prime Minister House to discuss the two-day trade talks between Pakistan and India, beginning on Wednesday.

The trade talks were part of the composite dialogue that was launched seven years ago for restoring normal relations between the two countries, but had been stalled since the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. (ANI)
