China’s economic success an inspiration: Gilani

Islamabad, Oct 1 (IANS) China’s “astonishing economic success” is a source of inspiration for the developing world, said Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
Gilani made the remark in a message of felicitation to China’s Premier Wen Jiabao on the occasion of 62th National Day of China Oct 1.
Gilani said: “China’s civilisational renaissance and its astonishing economic success have come to serve as a source of inspiration for the developing world. It has brought peace and prosperity to China’s neighbourhood.”
Pakistan is proud of China’s achievements and appreciates its initiatives for creating economic synergies and building mutually beneficial partnerships in Asia and beyond, Associated Press of Pakistan quoted Gilani as saying.
The prime minister said continued exchange of high level visits has demonstrated the two countries’ commitment to forging even stronger ties, and ensured that the extraordinary narrative of their friendship is transmitted to the next generation.
Chinese Vice Premier Meng Jianzhu had visited here in September amid strained US-Pakistan ties. He had expressed Beijing’s support to its “all-weather friend” in difficult times and said it will standby it in hour of need.
Gilani said Pakistan and China enjoy a relationship that is without parallel in the contemporary era of inter-state relations.
“Our friendship is rooted in our shared history and cultural heritage. It has flourished through the nurture and care of successive generations of our leadership.”
