Sydney, Oct 9 (ANI): Reacting to retired Australian leg-spinner Shane Warnes wish to make a comeback if he gets a call, Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland has reportedly said that the 39-year-old second highest Test wicket taker should not be expecting a call now.
Sutherland laughed off the notion, saying: Shane is happily retired as far as I understand. I see him regularly and I know he has enough on his plate without thinking about Test cricket that’’s the end of the story really. He has certainly given people something to write about but he’’s good at that.
He said this while reacting to Warnes wish saying — If the call comes I will consider it, reported The Age.
Warne may have been hard pressed to make a significant contribution to the Australians” cause anyway. In 14 Tests against the Indians Warne took 43 wickets at an average of 47.19, well down on his overall figures. (ANI)
