‘Bugti’s niece being harassed’May 1st, 2009 - 6:13 pm ICT by ANI
Lahore, May. 1 (ANI): Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has been told that Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti’s niece and mother-in-law of Brahamdagh Bugti have been harassed by intelligence agency operatives.
In letters addressed to Zardari and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has demanded Mazari’s protection against harassment, the Daily Times reports.
The HRCP claimed that the agencies had been following her, harassing her and threatening to kill her.
The letter urged the president and the CM to take prompt action “to ensure that Mazari’s security is guaranteed and that she is not harassed merely because of her relationship with a person about whom somebody in government may have unfavorable ideas”. (ANI)
