London, Aug 28 (ANI): Hollywood actress Sarah Michelle Gellar’’s hit show “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” has inspired nearly 50,000 Brit women in two decades to shun traditional churches and get into the secret world of witchcraft.

A new survey showed that many women have been drawn into the Wiccan world of spells and potions.

Student Chelsea Simpson, 18, from Manchester, said that girls like Buffy and Sabrina are great role models

They show witches can be a force for good, so its no wonder people are trying witchcraft. Its an exciting way of life, Daily Star quoted her, as saying.

Dr Kristin Aune, a sociologist at the University of Derby and studys lead author said that one attraction is that women can rise up quickly to become chief witches and priestesses.

There are more than 700,000 Internet sites for teenage witches and the Pagan Federation has been receiving hundreds of inquiries every week from young girls, some as young as 13. (ANI)
