Colombo, April 25 (IANS) A bomb exploded in a passenger bus on the outskirts of the Sri Lankan capital Friday evening, military sources here said. The bomb went off at Piliyantala, a few kilometres from Colombo, around 6.45 p.m., military spokesman Udaya Nanayakkara said. “The casualty details are not known,” he said.
The blast occurred when government troops are locked in heavy fighting against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in the country’s north.
